Sue’s Top Outdoor Picks
My choice of shoes and boots is definitely determined by what I know will fit me and the job that I want them to do – which is usually more than one task!
For a particularly cold damp day, I would choose either the Remonte D7477-22 (No:213) or the Rieker Y3442-23 (No:282) boot for not only walking the dog but for general wear around the town, the garden and anything else that I need to do that day! The Rieker boot lies just above the ankle and the Remonte boot is below the knee. They are both waterproof and have a warm lining with room in the foot for thick tights or socks. For a woman with a very ‘sporty’ calf, it’s great to be able to own a pair of long boots!!
I love colourful footwear which is why I have selected the Waldlaufer 758001 (No:350) in yellow and two from Josef Seibel – Neele 01 in red (No:136) and Neele 01 in yellow (No:137). Any of these will brighten your day and put a spring in your step. They’re really comfortable with plenty of room and can be worn all day – probably wouldn’t do the gardening in them though!
I’ve chosen the Remonte D3205-25 trainer shoe simply because it’s attractive to look at with nice detailing on the side and the heel, extremely comfortable to wear, has removable foot beds (if I want to wear thicker socks) and it fits me!
Jana Shoes are always very generous in their sizing and the one I have selected is no exception. I think that this boot, style 25160 (No.112) is gorgeous. Can be worn with a skirt or trousers, can be dressed up or dressed down depending on your activity, and is very generous in the foot. It might be too wide for those of you with a slim foot.
My final offering this time is a pair of black boots from Waldlaufer – style number 939806 (No:357). Although I don’t usually wear black footwear, sometimes you need a pair of black boots. These boots are comfortable, generous in the foot and the leg with some detailing on the heel to lighten the blackness!
I’m really pleased to say that this selection is just a fraction of what is available to me with my wide feet and sporty calves! I Haven’t always been able to say that, but I can this year!
